So I'm procrastinating studying and have not blogged in a while, so it was the perfect situation for posting. It will be a short post but one I feel is incredibly important for your marriage.
Over the course of our almost five months of marriage, i have been sick about three times (once on and after our honeymoon). Being sick often is not out of the ordinary for me, and luckily for P he has had lots of experience around sick-Shannon. My most recent and current illness has kept me in bed for the better part of the past two weeks with a sinus infection and now pneumonia (fun, I know). So this thought came to me today and I thought I would share.
Put time and effort into your master bed design. Pick out a great bedspread/comforter and sheet set for your bed when decorating your first home (house, town-home, apartment, etc.). Buy a foam topper or a mattress with a pillow top and extra pillows. Go all out (or splurge a bit) on your master bed. It should be a haven for you and your spouse, which may take a bit of compromising or his and her siding. Work together to find a pattern or style that you both will enjoy looking at every day and a sheet material you both will enjoy snuggling in.
Make your bed a place the both of you are excited to come home to. Make your bed somewhere you would be comfortable resting your head for days on end when sick. Make your bed the place you and your husband want to be together to connect and share. This is an important spot in the house in so many ways, so don't overlook the time and effort to work together to make this a favorite spot for both of you.
